SUNDAY, JULY 10, 2011
Open gym last week went well. We had one Gold, two Gr. 7's, three Gr. 5's, three Gr. 3's, and two visitors from Calgary - it was worth opening the gym. This coming week looks like rain, so I will open the gym, for younger players going into grades 3 to 9, on Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:00 (10:30) and I MIGHT open the gym on Wednesday - check blog on Tuesday night. Senior Golds - take advantage of open gym at SASS on Tuesday and Thursday Nights - playing agianst the older players will improve your game.

Basketball Camp Information:
I talked to Coach Clark last night and he's excited about coming to Salmon Arm to offer his camp to our boys. He said no matter what the numbers are, the camp is a go. Reminder that the camp will be held on July 18th to 21st, at SMS - Grades 4 to 7 from 9:00 am to 12:00 and Grades 8 to 12 from 1:00 to 4:00. Please help promote the camp by spreading the word - this is a great opportunity for our boys and basketball in Salmon Arm.
Open Gym Times:
Looks like rain this week - I will open the gym on Friday, July 8th, from 9:30 to 10:30 or 11:00 - time will depend on numbers and interest. Remember, basketball is the most difficult sport to play because of the skills involved and the off-season is the most important time to develop those skills. Players who drop out of basketball are the ones who never work on improving their skills and fail to improve; therefore, they become frustrtated because they can't play the game well, so they quit and we often hear "basketball sucks!" No, its a great game - its just a lot more difficult to play than many of the other sports. It takes constant dedication, commitment, and WORK! Become a "GYM RAT"! Make your time in the gym fun by competing, hanging out with friends, making new friends, and working on your game. I plan on opening the gym at least once a week, so check the BLOG on a regular basis and keep your friends informed.
